Perhaps why many people get seasonal depression in the winter is because they feel they must abandon all fun summer essential clothing. College LifestylesTM doesn’t believe in clothing only serving seasonal purposes, nor do we believe in seasonal depression. Let us show you how to incorporate your cute crop tops even in the cold winter months.
“Usually crop tops get packed away in summer clothes, but they totally have use in the winter too.”-Giana LaBanca, junior, Loyola University
Paired with Denim Skirt
We love denim skirts. Once they were introduced to us this fall we couldn’t let go. Dressing is really about accessories, so when you pair your sweater crop top with a denim skirt, adding a floppy hat, black stockings and suede boots becomes a game changer. Pairing your crop top with a suede, corduroy or leather skirt could work as well.
Mixing two unusual or unexpected items usually makes for genius results. We know pairing your traditional winter pea coat with a crop top is not your first thought, but the collaboration is so trendy.
“I think when wearing a crop top in the winter, it is important to make sure the crop top is long-sleeved.”-Martine Campana, junior, Iona College
(Hint: Whenever you wear a crop top, always make sure your bottoms are high-waisted, otherwise you are in for a fashion felony.)
Our model, Gianna Cuomo shares her favorite details about winter crop-tops: “I like adding little winter accessories to help the crop top appear in season. Fur scarfs, beanie hats and leggings are great additions to the outfit.”
Paired with Leggings
There are many crop tops made especially for the winter, so do not always feel obligated to use your summer crop tops all the time. This plaid long-sleeve crop top from LF is paired with leggings, comfy boots and a fur scarf- a perfect lazy outfit for class, without looking too laid-back.
