LOVE IT: Francesca’s Fancy Flops

With warm temperatures approaching, it is time to pack away our sweaters and tights and bring out our sundresses and flip flops!  Personally, I LOVE sundresses and shorts, but don’t love ‘beachy’ flip flops worn with these items.  I will however, wear Fancy Flops!

Francesca's Fancy Flops

Enter Francesca’s Fancy Flops!  This amazing company offers various ‘fancy flops,’ not flip flops, for us classy co-eds, our moms, and the little ones in our life.  From flowers to ‘bling,’ Francesca’s Fancy Flops, can be worn on casual occasions, weddings, and brunches.  What we love most about Francesca’s Fancy Flops is their partnership with various philanthropies, including breast and ovarian cancer organizations, by donate proceeds with the purchase of a Fancy Flop.

Included in MTV Movie Award goodie bags and worn by the fabulous Alexis Bellino of the Real Housewives of Orange County, you can imagine how I felt like a supermodel when I received my very own pair of Fancy Flops for my photo shoot!  I am honored to be the Editor in the category of fabulousness who wear Fancy Flops!

Fancy Flops fit perfect into my Editor and Mom wardrobe of sundresses, maxi dresses, skirts, and rompers (I own very few pairs of jeans).  I’m only 5’1,’ so I LOVED the kitten heel on the flops and being ‘girly girl,’ I loved the bling decor.  The bling on the Fancy Flop matches all my sundresses and spring/summer wardrobe AND will match all my summer pedis!

Francesca’s Fancy Flops are a great addition to any classy co-eds wardrobe AND our mom’s wardrobe!  With Mother’s Day quickly approaching,  Fancy Flops make a great present for any mom!  Check out these other lovely selections.

Job Challenge Day 4: Where Do You ‘Look’ for Job Oppurtunities?

Career centers, calling companies, career fairs, websites, instructors?  College Lifestyles is incredibly excited to start listing both job and internship openings to our website starting 4/19; but where do you find out about job opportunities?

Our CEO was pretty bold when looking for jobs, ‘I called the HR department at local hospitals, wellness centers, and any where else.  I was pretty desperate for a job.  Sure, I got hung up on and told no, but one call did lead to a job!’

Day 4:  Where do you ‘look’ for job opportunities?

Remember to RSVP for our Job Search Twitter Party on 4/18 9pm EST/8pm CST using the hashtag #CLchat.  On 4/19, you will be able to upload your resume to our site to aid us in your job search!

Job Challenge Day 3: Interview Day Superstitions?

While this question may seem a little odd, think about it.  Do you do something before a huge exam – listening to a favorite song, yoga – to relax you?  If so, we want to know!

Verizon Wireless Online Workshops: What We Loved, Learned, and Wanted More Of!

As a proud Verizon ambassador, we have been testing 2 fabulous Verizon products, the Droid RAZR and Droid XY Board.

DROID XY BOARD

While we loved playing with both out Droid RAZR and Droid XY Board, it got to the point where we had questions about our devices.  Tired of typing in google our questions, we signed up for an online workshop.  (Do know Verizon does offer workshops in their stores).

Why we LOVED the online workshop format as compared to in store presentation:

1 – Let’s be honest, sitting through an hour workshop is a bit, well, time consuming.  The fact we could pause AND skip segments was quite appealing.

2 – Even though we completed the class, we can still go back and review a specific segment.

What NEW information we learned (and set up) about the fabulous Droid XY Board in our online workshop (and why the XY Board is great for students)

1 – Combined view email.

Instead of logging into various email accounts (personal, student, work, etc), the XYBoard has an option of combining all your emails from your various accounts into one view.  This is a great time saver when running back and forth between class, projects, and meetings.

2 – MotoCast

I-tunes, pictures, video, and documents from our MAC can be viewed on our XYBoard by using this application.  A quick set up on both the computer and the XYBoard had us viewing all documents in a matter of minutes.  Great to upload a video for a plane ride OR a presentation for class.

3 – MotoPack

This application allowed us to browse through ‘favorite’ applications for the XYBoard in the categories of business, games, entertainment, library, productivity, and family.  By clicking on the app, you are directed to the ‘Play Store’ where you can download and directly install on your XYBoard.

4 – Bookmark via Webmaster

Similar to our own desktops, we can bookmark our favorite sites.  The first site we bookmarked was College Lifestyles.

What we would like to see more workshops on:

1 – Home Screen Organization.

We are still trying to figure out how to organize all our apps, widgets, etc.  We are massive organizers here and need a bit more help in this area.

2 – Upload, edit, save, and share documents.

We review and edit tons of files on a daily basis.  We would love to be at the coffee shop or library working, but still trying to figure out how to upload, edit, save, and share our documents!

Sign up for a Verizon Wireless Workshop near you or online by clicking here.

Top 4 XY Board Accessories for Students.

Dorm, apartment, study group, library, coffee shop, sorority/organization meetings, car, class, gym.  let’s face it, college co-eds follow a very busy agenda.  With coffee in hand and phone/tablet in other, students are constantly on the move.  In between our agendas, we are skyping family, texting BFFs, and organizing emails using our phone/tablet.

The folks at Verizon Wireless asked us ‘What are wish list accessories for your Droid XY Board?’  As a proud Verizon ambassador, we have been testing great Verizon products, the Droid RAZR and Droid XY Board which you will read future reviews.

We in the College Lifestyles home office would be quite lost without our Droid RAZR and Droid XY Board.  Texting one another, checking our emails, developing AND delivering presentations and posting to our Facebook/Twitter are a part of our daily activities.  We are quite attached to our technology.

We thought about it and came up with our ‘Wish List:  Top 4 Droid XY Board Accessories for Students.’

Job Challenge Day 2: Who is Your Business/Career Role Model?

While this question may or may not be asked in an interview, learning where your business/career role model ‘got their start’ can help you build your career path.  Research your role model’s previous internships, job experiences, and current volunterism practices.  Determine if you can apply for similar internships and jobs, as well as if you can participate in their philanthropic endeavors.
