College Lifestyles TM and all of our interns would like to introduce our chic intern Jacquelyn Brooks. She is a classy team member with an impressive resume to prove it! You’ll be sure to check out this fabulous editor.

Name: Jacquelyn Brooks

College Lifestyles™ position: Fashion/Beauty editor and Dating/Relationships/Entertainment editor

Hometown: Moundsville, West Virginia

School: West Virginia University

Major(s)/Minor(s)/Concentration(s): I received a BS in fashion merchandising and minors in both public relations and business administration.

Organizational involvement: I was a member and secretary of the Fashion Business Association and co-founder and treasurer of Silence Hides Violence, which is a group that advocates domestic violence and sexual assault awareness. I also worked in a lot of fashion shows throughout the university and community, the biggest being Evolution of Design – I was a model and helped plan the marketing for the event. And another exciting thing I got to do my senior year was work with the MBA program and UGG to create a pop-up store in our student union.

I am excited for this semester because: I’m back in my fashion element! And I’m looking forward to meeting a new class of interns and really improving my skills.

My absolute favorite thing about fall is: Everything. I love how crisp and cool the air gets, pumpkin scented candles, fireplaces, the colors and sweaters. And I have a fall wardrobe planned that I can’t wait to sport.

My dream study abroad trip would be to: I’d like to live in London and really soak in the culture. But I think if I got to study anywhere, it’d be Prague. WVU has a study abroad trip there that I never got to go on. I’d love to soak in that culture and see the architecture and art.

My number one recipe for this semester is: My crockpot chicken noodle soup

My number one DIY project for this semester is: I really liked the article about using clipboards as a wall display. It meshes my love for office supplies and organization into one!

My favorite movies are: “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Legally Blonde,” “Hercules…” I like a sassy leading lady.

My celebrity dream date is: George Clooney-we can go anywhere.

I get my inspiration from: I really get my inspiration from everywhere-buildings, color combinations, cloud formations, people or magazines.

My friends would describe me as: Ambitious, creative, passionate and self-sufficient.

My favorite College Lifestyles™ article was: I’m still in love with my article Look for Less: Carrie Bradshaw.

My definition of a classy co-ed is: When I think of a classy co-ed, I think of someone who is confident without being arrogant, charitable without being a pushover and being scholarly while still penciling in time for fun. Also, a classy co-ed should always encourage other people to not hinder them. See more.

I am excited to be a College Lifestyles™ team member because: Well, I’ve been here so long – what would I do if I left? But in all seriousness, the CL team isn’t a team, it’s a little family. Everyone is so supportive, and we are all so passionate about what we’re doing.

Whether Jacquelyn is watching one of her favorite movies, or completing her new DIY project for this semester, she is the go to girl for any fashion advice!
