Pittsburgh is a city rich with college life, acting as home to universities like Duquesne and Carnegie Mellon. So if you find yourself in Pittsburgh with a special someone, here are a few date ideas that are not only a good time, but capture the heart of the city too.

1.    Head to a Penguins Game

With the NHL lockout recently ending, take advantage of the rest of the hockey season. A Penguins game is a fun date that he’s sure to love!

2.    Take a Ride on the Incline

The Monongahela is one of Pittsburgh’s oldest and most loved features. It is a cable car experience that leaves you with a beautiful view of the city skyline. Just imagine how romantic it would be on top of Pittsburgh at sunset!

3.    Visit Schenley Park 

Schenley Park is a great date idea all year round! In the winter you can take a lovely stroll throughout the park or try ice skating. If you visit Schenley during warmer months, a picnic is a perfect way to spend the day. Schenley is a Pittsburgh staple with a lot to offer.

4.    Check Out the Ballet Theatre 

If you’re looking for a sophisticated night out try dinner and a show at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Going to a show at the PBT is a nice excuse for you and your date to get dressed up, and it’s sure to leave you speechless. So try something different in the new year and look for their upcoming production Moulin Rouge.

5.    Phipps Conservatory

 Take a break from the winter snow at the Phipps Conservatory, an indoor conservatory that offers 17 different botanical showcases. You might even forget that it’s winter outside while checking out the beautiful tropical gardens of Phipps!
