Top 5 Ways to Keep Your Frozen Yogurt Healthy
October 17, 2012 | by

Frozen yogurt shops have been taking over towns and helping classy college co-eds stay fit with a healthy alternative to ice cream. However, this tasty treat can quickly add inches to your waistline if you’re not careful when piling on toppings. Here are five things to remember when indulging in this yummy dessert.

1. Stick to the smaller sized frozen yogurt cup to help maintain a healthy portion.

2. Go for the “original” flavors offered. Although the yogurts are low or non-fat, these flavors contain a lot of sugars and calories that can make your “healthy” treat not so healthy.

3. Steer clear of the candy and cookie pieces. These sugary items add calories and fat to your snack that could potentially drive you away from your healthy diet.

4.Add a lot of fresh fruits and nuts to your treat. Fruit will finish off your dessert with something sweet to replace those unhealthy candies. These items will make your frozen yogurt delicious and nutritious.

5. Go with a friend and help each other stick to making good decisions!

Stick to these tips to help make your frozen yogurt experience one that won’t pack on the pounds and conquer your sweet tooth craving all at the same time.
