Fun Fact: Tatum began his successful career as a model, but before doing so, he worked as a construction worker, mortgage broker, Dillard’s cologne salesman and puppy/kitten nursery attendant.
Current Projects: After starring in three of 2012’s biggest films, The Vow, 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, Tatum is currently busy filming White House Down and Lego: The Piece of Resistance, in which he will play the voice of Superman.
Community Outreach and Charities: Over the years, Tatum has devoted much of his time to the betterment of others, supporting charities such as the Dizzy Feet Foundation, Keep a Child Alive and The Rainforest Foundation. Dizzy Feet Foundation was founded in 2009 by several big name celebrities to increase access to dance education amongst students of low-income families in the United States. Keep a Child Alive strives to provide anti-retroviral treatment to children, as well as their families, in Africa who struggle with HIV/AIDS. The Rainforest Foundation, founded in 1989, combines both human rights and environmental protection in an effort to stop deforestation and save the world’s diminishing rainforests.
Why is Channing a gentleman? It’s easy for many to get caught up in the glitz and glam of being a celebrity, but Tatum is not one of those individuals. The 32-year-old remains humble in all aspects of his life and makes sure to work hard and inspire others. Tatum also values living a charitable lifestyle, along with his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, whom he starred in the original Step Up with and wed in September 2008.
