Chic Style: 3 Ways to Wear Sequins
October 20, 2012 | by

The holidays are coming up and what better way to flaunt your awesome style than an article of clothing covered in sequins? Whether you are dressing up for a holiday party or a sorority formal, sequins are the perfect option to get you noticed. While some gutsy gals might like to wear a full out sequined dress, others might keep their bling a little more understated. Whatever your style is, read on for CL’s tips on how to make sequins work for you!

1.    Full-On Sparkle

Are you a brave girl who loves to steal the spotlight? Choose a dress completely covered in sequins like this red dress from Mod Cloth. The allover sparkle will make you stand out in a crowd and look luxurious. Make sure you keep the outfit classy by picking an A-line dress cut, instead of a short and snug fit, which could end up looking like you are heading out to a club. Pair the sparkly frock with solid shoes and very minimum jewelry to keep the outfit from being overwhelming. For another modern twist, pair the dress with a pair of black stockings for a chic look!

2.    Half-Way Bling

This look is perfect for the girl who loves sequins, but is a little too shy to go all-out. Pick either a top or a bottom that is covered in sparkles and then rock it with a solid color on the other half. There are some adorable sequin skirts that are all over the shelves right now, as well as blouses that shimmer. Looking to wear a classy outfit to a fancier office party? Pair a black pencil skirt with a sparkly blouse and you’ll make a statement without stealing the show.

3.    A Touch of Glitter

Some girls only need a tiny bit of sparkle to be satisfied! In this case, rock your usual outfit, but just add a touch of sequins. A perfect way to do this is with a sparkly clutch or a blinged-out pair of heels.

Adding a bit of sparkle to your wardrobe is both fun and classy.  Sequins are perfect to add to an outfit when you’re hosting a chapter Thanksgiving dinner. Sparkle on!
