September 24-28th is observed as National Hazing Prevention Week. Fraternities and sororities across the nation are encouraged to participate in the week in educating not only their members on the dangers of hazing, but the campus community on hazing prevention and education.
With several of our writers and social media interns being Greek, as well as our Editor in Chief and Managing Editor, we asked ‘What is your sorority/Panhellenic doing for hazing awareness this week?’
Quinnipiac has each member of the Greek community sign a anti-hazing pledge that is hung in the student center. We also all wear band-aids to symbolize the pain hazing can cause. ~Kim Anatos, Quinnipiac University
Southern Miss also signs an anti-hazing pledge, and we pass out buttons for each of our members to wear around campus. ~Mallory Hatten, Southern Miss
