Its official! Summer is over and autumn has arrived. This may lead you to think that the only date options available are the very stereotypical dinner-and-a-movie types. However, this is not the case! There are so many date options for you and your guy that are specific just to the fall season. CL gives you five options that could spice up a date night!
Carving Pumpkins
Now when you first hear of this idea, memories from elementary school might flash through your mind. But this is a tradition that has no age-limit! Start a Sunday morning off by taking a hayride through a pumpkin patch with your guy. Have a contest to see who can find the “perfect” pumpkin. Then bring your pumpkins home and work together to carve silly faces into them. This is a great way to bond together by doing something creative AND to relive a great childhood tradition!
Shopping for Costumes
Shopping is something that typically all girls love, and most boys hate. However, when you get to shop for something as fun as Halloween costumes everyone wins! Head to your local costume shop or thrift store with your man and take turns in the dressing room trying on and modeling the silly costumes. It might inspire a great couples costume for an upcoming holiday party!
Football Game
Nothing says fall quite like bundling up to cheer for your team on a Friday night! Get tickets to your school’s football game or a local game (sometimes there are student discounts. Always research for deals!) Make sure you bring some hot cocoa, a blanket to snuggle under and your best fan-gear. Shameless flirting tip-grab your guy’s hand to keep both of your fingers toasty!
Corn Maze
This is such a quintessential fall activity! Check out your local newspaper to see where the closest corn maze is and head out with your guy to see who has the best navigation skills. Up for a challenge? Most corn mazes are open late. Bring some flashlights and navigate through the stalks in the dark! Afterwards, reward yourself with some hot apple cider and donuts.
Stay in and Cook
After a hard week of classes, work, etc. sometimes you just want to stay in for a night. There is no shame in that! Pick an easy recipe that you can cook together like these healthy nachos. After you’re done eating, pop in a movie and snuggle up together. Choose one of these five sports movies that you’ll both enjoy.
While the cold weather may lead you to feel less motivated to get creative on date night, there are so many fun options for you and your guy. Try one and let us know how it goes by tweeting us @collegelifestyl!
