The Mindy Project has been one of Fox’s most anticipated new comedies. Who could resist the adorable Mindy riding her old-school bicycle to a happy tune in the commercial? The Mindy Project, brainchild of comedian and author Mindy Kaling, features even more adorableness and, of course, that cute bike!

The story follows a 31-year-old OB/GYN, Mindy, who’s at a standstill in her life because she has yet to find a long-term boyfriend. The main character is super relatable; we see her lying on the floor discussing the day with her BFF, wishing her love life mimicked that of movies, and even accidentally revealing information to a blind date she gathered from Facebook-stalking him beforehand!

There’s a lesson to be learned here: Even doctors go through rough spots. Co-eds take note! Next time it seems like nothing is going your way, remember that everybody finds herself in a rut now and then.

Mindy’s most touching aspect is her resilience and optimism.  Even when she faces failed relationships, an arrest and a patient who forces her to leave the best date of her life, she never gives up. Her bright smile reveals her true happiness with herself. Even though she is motivated to change her life, she realizes it starts with contentment; things can only get better from here.

The half-hour comedy is jam-packed with pop culture references and super relatable jokes such as, “I’m pretty much a vegetarian. I eat eggs, fish and hamburgers, but never steak.” The only downside– it’s over too soon! The CL ladies are itching to find out more about Mindy’s surely hilarious path to finding love.
