64th Primetime Emmy Awards: In Review
September 24, 2012 | by

All award shows have their good and bad hosts, their funny and humorless guests, and gigs that work or go horribly wrong. Now that the 64th Emmy Awards is done, here is the College Lifestyles ™ review…

We loved:

Seeing Ellen. Random, since these weren’t awards for daytime television, but we always love to see Ellen. We would love to see a dance-off between her and Kimmel!

The Josh Groban appearance. Haven’t seen him in a while, and his singing is as good as ever!

The “In Memoriam.” A tribute to the wonderful talents we lost this year.

Knowing the stars are just like us when they:

1. Don’t have a script.

2. Think the cameras are not on them.

3. Are around famous people.

We didn’t love:

Jimmy Kimmel’s tribute to himself. Yes, we understand the celebrity death hoaxes on social media, but other than the fact that it showed off Josh Groban’s unending singing talent, we just didn’t care.

Jimmy Kimmel’s other pranks. Like having Tracy Morgan “fake” pass out on stage and having viewers post and Tweet about it. Could’ve been funny…except Kimmel never took it anywhere after the initial stage.

The many nominations routines. Interviews, montages, arghhh. Pick a way. Stick with it.

The attempt-to-be-funny speeches.  Nipple covers? That’s what you’re going to talk about?

Who would you like to see as host next year? Cast your vote in the comments below.
