Name: Tiana Blue
Position: Senior editor and features writer
University: Pennsylvania State University!
Year in studies: Junior
Organizational involvement: After two years at Penn State Altoona, I’m “transitioning” up to our main campus, State College! Also known as Happy Valley, University Park, Main, State… Anyway, I’m starting fresh and looking to dabble in dance again, something print-related and some sort of journalism society.
I show my school spirit by: Involving myself in campus activities. Penn State’s THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world and we raise millions annually toward pediactric cancer research. Last year, each campus raised a combined total of over $10 million. As a sophomore, I was Penn State Altoona Benefiting THON’s letter writing captain, which is something I’m really proud of.
My favorite thing about Fall is: Heeled boots! I love mine. They’re a deep chocolate-y colored pair from Charlotte Russe. They make me feel like our motto here at CL – ”Classy. Confident. Chic.”
For Halloween I will be: I plan on being Rihanna because I’ve been told I look like her. Should be a fun costume.
Neon pants – yay or nay? Definite “nay” unles you’re a part of LMFAO or going to a themed event. Colored jeans, yes. Neon colored…not painting a pretty picture.
Twitter or Facebook? New followers are always welcome! @tawlglass
My favorite color is: Blue was the first to come to mind, so let’s go with that.
My go-to accessory is: Big hoops. I think my answer for this is the same every semester…
My favorite store is: Prada. It’s always been my favorite brand.
My favorite food is: I’ve been on a sushi kick lately.
My favorite movies/TV shows are: The Waterboy and Austin Powers in Goldmember to name a few movies.
My favorite book is: The Five People You Meet In Heaven. I read this book the summer before freshman year of high school, and it inspired me to start tapping into my spirituality.
My favorite magazine is: I’ll say Inked because I love tattoo art.
My favorite quote is, because: ”Insecurity rents every room it walks into — confidence owns them.” This is how I try to live every day. It doesn’t just mean having confidence in your appearance. It’s about having confidence in what you do, in your opinions and in who you are as a woman. Insecurity gets nothing done.
My role model is, because: Either my sister, Courtney, for always being true to herself, being assertive (read: diva when necessary) and for synonymously loving science and stilettos. Or Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks, whom I met this summer. She has such a warm personality and is just as beautiful in person. She’s poised and a lady you want to talk to. That’s how every classy woman should carry herself.
I spend my weekends…: Doing typical stuff — hanging out with my best friends, catching up on TV in these last few lazy days left before school. Some events of a perfect weekend would include outdoorsy stuff (hiking, running), going to the beach and exploring NYC.
I take a break from studying by…: Eating. Snacking, full-course meals…yum.
I de-stress by…: Stretching. I danced for two years during high school and have taken classes in college, so stretching and doing breathing exercises is vital to me. When my body’s tense, so am I!
My secret talent is: I can almost do the Spongebob laugh. So serious.
My friends describe me as: Ambitious and friendly!
My favorite College Lifestyles article is: They’re all fabulous.
Why I am excited to be an intern for College Lifestyles: Every semester is new and exciting. There’s never a dull season with CL and we’re taking this brand to new levels.
My definition of a classy co-ed: She takes chances, gives her all and is constantly looking for ways to better herself. A classy co-ed has a bright future ahead of her because she respects herself, works hard and certainly dresses the part.
