In the heat of the summertime, it is very common to start losing sight of our chapter values for various reasons. Both the distance between our sisters and the lack of ritual, play huge contributing factors to our neglect. However there are so many ways to keep in touch with not only our sisters, but also with our values!

Rock those letters with pride! Wear them as a reminder of the values you and your chapter hold for yourself. I don’t know about you, but I always feel extra-special when I’m wearing my letters. It reminds me I always have a family there to support me, even when I’m at my worst.
Plan a meet up. Make a Facebook event and invite everyone – near or far – you’ll be surprised how many ladies will show if you plan far enough in advance. Phone a sister who lives far away and catch up. It will be nice to hear their voice and it will serve as a reminder of why you’re in your chapter – trust me.
Look for those pretty letters while you’re out. There have been various incidents where I’ve been out and about, and have met some wonderful Kappa Alpha Theta’s. Your sisters are everywhere. Keep your eyes peeled.
And finally, what does your ritual mean to you? This is a question hugely emphasized at Quinnipiac University. Take a few minutes to yourself and remember. Remind yourself what made you choose your chapter and what makes your chapters unique, setting you apart from the rest.
As my chapter often reiterates, you are always wearing your letters – something to keep in mind. When you’re at your internship. When you’re watching a sporting event. When you’re at a party. When you’re out on the town. You are forever representing your organization. So remember to stay CLassy and to always have your chapter values in the back of your mind.
