Intern Closet: Pretty Pastels!

I love wearing pastels in the summer heat!

The best way to wear pastels is to pair them with neutral colors like black, white or beige. If you still seem unsure about your fab outfit, try to brighten it up with pastel accessories! You can also wear multiple articles of pastel clothing together. Summer is the one season that you can truly get away with wearing many bright colors at once! For more advice on rocking bright clothes this summer, check out Maya’s article on neon trends.
In my first outfit, I have paired a salmon-colored H&M crop top with a white peasant skirt from Forever 21 for a comfy boho look. I accessorized using an old polka dot belt-turned head wrap, green earrings and a vintage wrap necklace that was once my Grandmother’s. For footwear, I included some bright green wedges from Charlotte Russe. This outfit is great for a casual dinner date!

In my second outfit, I have a pair of turquoise cropped pants from H&M with a plain white t-shirt. On a colder night, I would add my black blazer to give it a more structured look. I threw in a pair of purple printed flats from Charlotte Russe to give it a little more color. Also, I added a fun straw fedora and my white toy watch for finishing touches. You could wear an outfit like this to a casual day in the office.

For my third outfit, I paired yellow denim high-waist Forever 21 shorts with a simple black racer-back tank. I added a turquoise summer scarf from Old Navy and a pair of strappy sandals. I could wear this outfit to a day out with the girls. It is bright and perfect for the season!

Whether you want to go all out with a pastel dress or showcase small bits of bright colors, don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone this summer. Pastels look good on everyone, so get ready to turn some heads!
