Along with the heat of summer comes tasty seasonal food and overwhelming cravings for ice cream. If you’re looking for a delectable frozen treat to indulge in without the accompanying calories, dig out the blender and whip up this chilly homemade chocolate dessert. The best part? It tastes, looks and smells just like soft-served chocolate ice cream but is made with only two exceptionally nutritious ingredients. Who knew frozen bananas could turn into a creamy summer treat?
- 1 banana
- 3 heaping tbsp Ovaltine
1. Peel the banana. Cut the banana into four pieces, place them in a Ziploc bag and pop it in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
2. Take out frozen banana pieces and place into the blender with 3 heaping tablespoons of Ovaltine.
3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Easy, right? For a healthy spin on a classic Ben & Jerry’s ™ ice cream flavor, add ½ cup of walnuts and ½ cup of chocolate chips into the mix. Pop the blended mixture into the freezer and scoop out an hour later for the famous Ben & Jerry’s ice cream texture.
