Saying the move from high school to college feels “overwhelming” is an understatement. There are many ways to get it wrong, but thankfully there are plenty of ways to get it right. Take these steps this summer to prepare yourself for anything college may throw your way!

1. Research Clubs and Organizations

After hearing that UF had over 900 clubs and organizations, I pictured myself being a busy bee joining everything. Unfortunately, I didn’t apply in time or figure out when most of the groups were meeting. Don’t miss out on joining the amazing groups on your campus and do your research!

2. Prepare To Take Chances…and To Receive Rejection

College means endless opportunities. Like Babe Ruth said, “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.” Try out for the dance team, rush for a sorority and apply for that internship even if you are just a freshman. You may not succeed at first, but if you understand that rejection makes you stronger, then you will be able to bounce back and try again in no time!

4. Make a List of Your Goals
