CL’s Guide to Summer Festival Fashion
June 25, 2012 | by

Summer is well under way, and that can only mean one thing: festival season!  From state fairs to weekend long concerts, summer is the season of outdoor events.  Festivals are great venues to debut new fashion statements, and CL is here to help.  To pick out your perfect outfit just follow CL’s Guide to Summer Festival Fashion!

Trendy Tops

The search for the perfect festival look starts with the top.  From bright colors to bold patterns, this season is filled with fun summer trends perfect for a day in the sun.  For a classic and preppy look, pair a sheer lace top with a bright bandeau.  For an edgier look with a hippie vibe, try out a fringed tank.  If your style is somewhere in-between, wear a busy and patterned crop top.

Stylish Shorts

While I love a classic summer sundress or high-waisted skirt, festivals often force us classy co-eds to sit on the ground.  That’s why I suggest rocking a pair of shorts whenever attending a festival.  Don’t be afraid to branch out of the traditional jean short look!  Festivals are the perfect time to be bold when it comes to fashion choices. RunwayDreamz makes tons of studded and died cut-off shorts that are perfect for any style!

Comfy Shoes

2 words: flat sandals.  Summer festivals can get hot quickly, so you want a shoe that is light and open.  Outdoor festivals typically have uneven ground, and if you’re walking or standing frequently you’ll want a flat surface to stand on.  This makes the flat sandal the perfect shoe of the summer festival.  Try incorporating modern trends like this color-block shoe from Steve Madden!

Bold Accessories

Accessories are the tools that will pull your festival look together!  If the sun’s going to be out all day, work a fedora or floppy sunhat into your outfit.  If your outfit is simple and laid back, add in a bold statement necklace to really pop.  Stackable bracelets can also go with any outfit in any style.  And most importantly- don’t forget your favorite pair of sunglasses!
